2026 show - Excitement Brewing?
The 2026 edition did not disappoint and overall we got the impression it was just slightly busier than previous year and full of excitement both among vendors and customers - despite all the uncertainty in the world (perhaps people are now used to this?).
It is always a struggle to visit all 10 halls filled to the brim with high quality exhibitors, plenty of humanoids and robots, moving things, great people, friends and much more, and to say confidently you have seen everything.
The STIQ team was very humbled to meet so many end customer readers this time around. Note that we are always interested to meet you and hear your views, if you like something we write about - if you do not like something and if you have any suggestions or simply want to say hello!
What Was New? What's Most Exciting?
One of the most common questions to the STIQ team is - what is new or what have you seen that is exciting?
Humanoids - no. In fact very few of these did anything resembling a productive application. This has been typical for every show we go to. An interesting conversation we had was how you benchmark one humanoid against another - something for another day and might be something we collaborate with a consulting firm on - keep your eyes on this space!
So - the important stuff - we thought there were two products that stood out at the exhibition - Logisoft and DistriSort. Both companies focused on "bootstrapped innovation" or relatively simple solutions that produce a benefit. None of these were high-tech (or included a humanoid or AI) and it could be argued that anyone could do what they both did... but as far as we know, no one has - and this is partly the point we think.
Most Interesting A: Logisoft - the conveyor shuttle
Logisoft's ingenious shuttle is meant to replace 10's of meters and meters of conveyors and replace that with a relatively cheap shuttle. The primary application may be in buffering where you can replace loads of conveyors with a single shuttle.
Most Interesting B: DistriSort - the mechanical unit sorter
DistriSort is a sorter manufacturing company that produce a split tray sorter (see STIQs Sortation Equipment report) and have come up with what STIQ viewed as a relatively simple way of adding destinations to the sorter - a kind of unit sorter. Obviously this solution needs to be used together with a split tray sorter installed at height or on a mezzanine to make sense, but it looked fantastically simple.
Other Interesting:
There was most likely loads of other interesting news at the show, but these remained imprinted in the brains of our analysts. Agree? Disagree? Other innovations/new products we missed?
